Sangeeta Saikia Pathak has been writing poems since her student days. She still remembers her first Poem, "O' Cuckoo" that got published in her school (Holy Child School, Guwahati) magazine "Zenith" when she was in standard VIII. Later, her creativity bloomed as a student of English Literature during her graduation and post gradu ation days at Cotton College and Tezpur University. She remembers winning Prizes for two of her Poems, Viz, "Love Life's Beauty and "Loneliness' during the College week and University week respectively. That gave her a lot of inspiration to carry forth her writing of poetry. A number of poems of this Anthology have already been published in the Feelings column of the Horizon, the Saturday supplement of The Assam Tribune, The Cottonian and The Ecriture. She chooses to write on local themes and issues of social concern. The scenic beauty of her home State Assam has deeply influenced her writings. Having grown up during the turbulent times of the eighties and nineties in Assam, she has deep concern about the issue of terrorism that has groped her home State for ages. She sometimes uses poetry as a therapy to overcome the stressful situations of life. Her philosophical bent of mind is clearly evident in her poems. She is forever grateful and indebted to the Department of English, the erstwhile Cotton College that had moulded her by leaps and bounds in her journey of becoming a poetess!!!
