With the sundown and the twilight ,
I walk to my mirror
And I ask myself
the same questions,
Like every night.
As I see myself,
It saddens me to tears.
The scars on my face
Screams out loud
And I wish if I could cut it out.
The cellulite on my thighs
bellows in a rage,
And I wish if I could
Exterminate.
The melanins on my skin
Cries of the prejudice
And I wish if I could
Scrape off my skin.
What a shame it is!
To define beauty
on a scale.
Thousands of soul
Are fighting the same fight .
With a hope
for a day to come,
When beauty would be redefined ,
Not based on the skin,
But by the soul that lives within.
Beautiful 💙
